The University of London External Programme LL.B. Degree Recognized by The Law Society and The General Council of The Bar Of England & Wales
"The Law Society and the General Council of the Bar recognize the Law Degree of the University of London for external students as a "Qualifying Law Degree." Provided the period of study is not more than six years and the graduate has passed the written assessments in the seven foundation law subjects." (The Bar Council)
"A student who obtains a London University LLB degree, whether by following either the "A" or "B" paths of study, having passed the examination and/or assessments set, subject to any other restrictions previously indicated, possesses a Qualifying Law Degree for the purposes of completing the Academic Stage of Legal Education for the legal profession in England & Wales." (The Bar Council)

Moreover, for those students considering an application to enter the Bar Examination in the USA with an LLB from the University of London External Programme, it is strongly advised that you refer to the relevant US State Bar Admissions Committee or pertinent US State Board of Law Examiners to the Bar Council's web site. Additionally, it is recommend you request a letter from the Bar Council and Law Society of England & Wales (once your been awarded your LL.B. from the Univiersity of London) confirming that you have met the educational requirement or that your Degree is recognized as a Qualifying Law Degree. |

The Old Bailey ICLS INTEGRATES LIVE CLASSES June 2006: ICLS provides live face to face legal writing workshops and selected LL.B. revision courses in addition to it's online legal programme starting in the Toronto area this fall. According to George Pappas, ICLS Executive Director, "ICLS will provide expanded teaching without any additional cost to ICLS students. ICLS is going to do whatever it takes to increase the value of it's legal program. We're excited about supporting our online programme with brick and mortar learning. What's great about this development is that all ICLS students world wide will benefit since similarly registered ICLS students will receive the same review materials from the Toronto or New York City (or other location) seminars at no additional cost. We're also looking at other locations and hope to announce further face to face teaching for the University of London LL.B. degree course." ICLS |
